Debian #195600 is totally unrelated and is not about printing itself,
but about retaining printing options through save/reload.

However, Ubuntu #24785 is the same bug, with its own set of duplicates.
Personally, I think that if Dapper is to be that Totally Cool Release
supported for at least three years, you can't have lightning fast gnome
programs (like gnumeric, I really love it) that aren't able to print
landscape! Printing in PDF messes everything up quite nicely, and
selecting a 90 degrees rotated feed makes previews and PS outputs look
ok, but fails to actually print landscape (because of the wrong feed
orientation). I realize that fixing bugs isn't easy and I'm not good at
it myself, hence my reports instead of fixes, sorry! Still, I urge you
to look into this matter. Thanks!
