fcastillo, the problem is, new users, used to using CTRL-T in other applications, will expect it to do the same thing in gedit. It makes logical sense for it to be CTRL-N in gedit, but it does not make as clear a logical sense a for firefox. Its a very complicated usability issue... it's up to the devs to decide what to do.
