I still have this issue on up-to-date 8.10. Here are the logs attached
earlier. Not sure what I'm supposed to get from dbus-monitor whilst
suspending - I see the following, but nothing extra when I do a suspend:

s...@teresa-laptop:~$ dbus-monitor --session
"type='signal',interface='org.freedesktop.PowerManagement'"
signal sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> dest=:1.105 path=/org/freedesktop/DBus;
interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameAcquired
   string ":1.105"

^C
s...@teresa-laptop:~$ dbus-monitor --session
"type='signal',interface='org.freedesktop.PowerManagement.Backlight'"
signal sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> dest=:1.116 path=/org/freedesktop/DBus;
interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameAcquired
   string ":1.116"

^C
