Public bug reported: As of today, upon rebooting, the Gnome desktop in Jaunty does not load. I get the login screen, I provide credentials, I get the backdrop, and then nothing. In the logs, I find the following:
x-session-manager[6644]: WARNING: Application 'seahorse-daemon.desktop' failed to register before timeout x-session-manager[6644]: WARNING: Application 'gnome-panel.desktop' failed to register before timeout x-session-manager[6644]: WARNING: Application 'nautilus.desktop' failed to register before timeout I did go ahead and create a brand-new, fresh, account just to be sure that this is not caused by something that has gotten messed up in my own configuration settings. The new account shows the same behavior. So Jaunty is toast for me at the moment. I'm running on Intrepid. Can reinstall Jaunty, wait for a fix, and/or do some testing. Just let me know. :-) ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [jaunty] Cannot Start Gnome Desktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/326749 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
