Someone offered a bugfix. I don't remember exactly what was the case -- vaguely
remember that the guarddog in my computer was stopping me from connecting to lo
and that caused a lot of problems including evince not working and things like
that.

Close it, I think that it is fixed.

Ayan

Subject: [Bug 231384] Re: Gtk+ applications slow when local (lo) network
interface not upped

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
