I do still not know if the problem I had is related to the problem that is described here, but I can supply you with a load of info from the last few hours. To answer your questions:
The problem still exists in the newest version of ubuntu (intrepid ibex). Thus it is not solved. My sound hardware specification: Intel HD Audio and ALC880 googleing my hardware specification I found out that the hardware is a real pain in the ass for ubuntu. Other users experienced the same problem, and one even made a workaround. I solved my problem by following the first two steps of this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=195434 (after being redirected about 20 times), the guy thinks it is solved by upgrading the kernel, but since my kernel is newer than the one in the post (2.6.27 vs 2.6.16) I only followed the first two steps, and got my sound working again (after changing some of the volume levels in the volume manager). I hope this works out for some of you! ** Changed in: gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- Gstrreamer problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218529 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
