For the SRU side of things, bug #216104 should be used as the public bug number for discussion and tracking. (FWIW, it appears that the customer himself commented in that bug.) I've targeted that bug to the 8.04.3 point release, but this is still very tentative, relying heavily on being able to extract a suitable fix for backporting.
