Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

It would be really useful if you could provide a background image for
your terminal that is a PNG with transparency and have it work

This way for example you could have a terminal running screen with a
status line, and have a png with one row of 80% opaqueness at the
bottom and the rest be 60% opaque,

or have a thin line hinting at where 80x25 is so you know when you pass
it when coding

Or any other number of possible things the crazy artists types will come
up if given this ability.

** Affects: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
