Hm, it is actually working now. Closing the lid, choosing suspend in the
logout menu and in the gpm tray icon all work. (To answer the question,
I have that lock file).

I'm a bit confused as I did try several times yesterday, and rebooted to
make sure all updates were used. I wonder if my mirror was out of sync
slightly so that not all updates were included.

I will keep testing this over the next days and see if I can get it to
fail again. If you want to close this bug, I can just reopen if I manage
to reproduce it again.
