Hi, Evolution 2.24.2, Ubuntu 8.10, 2.6.27-9-generic
It happened to me twice. Along with other reported bug that evolution does not delete messages from server after specified number of days for me it resulted in downloading again about 32000 emails from my account. I don't know how to reproduce it. It just happened second time in about 3 months period. Only strange thing I experience that may be related is that I'm using VPN from time to time, and it may happen that sometimes I turn it on or off when evolution is downloading. I realized that if connection is broken in some circumstances fetching of emails form server hangs. Consequently pidgin hangs as well. Both programs stay in not responding state and I have to kill all evolution related processes and start it again to get it working. I'm not sure if this is related to messages being downloaded again. Hanging issue has happened for me many times and old emails issue only twice.
