You know, I originally thought of this as a gnome-panel applet, but it might work better as a metacity feature, since I'm envisioning 'minimize to tray' as a title bar context item. My 'global defaults' (dock or not) could be hidden away in gconf instead of an applet context menu. Basically, just rewrite AllTray to be less buggy, integrate it into metacity, instant coolness.
