Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

When enabling Compiz via the Visual Effects tab in gnome-control-center,
it calls jockey to look for available drivers, which takes several
seconds (at least on my machine).

It does that, even when no additional driver is needed at all. Jockey
does notice that after all but the whole checking and waiting could be
avoided if gnome-control-center had knowledge about what driver is in
use and whether it's on the whitelist of /usr/bin/compiz

Currently on that list are: nvidia intel ati radeon i810 fglrx

** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

gnome-appearance-properties shouldn't call jockey when enabling Visual Effects
if driver is on the whitelist
