Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox
When I open .dts .ac3 audio files (see for example Jean Michelle Jarrre - Aero 2004), I do not get 5.1 separate sounds on 6 speakers, but only downmixed stereo 2 speakers. Totem has 5.1 option, witch allows 6 different speaker sounds, in: Edit->Preferences Sound tab and it just works for this /etc/asound.conf and /home/user/.asoundrc text file: ############################################ pcm.!default { type plug slave.pcm "softvol" } pcm.softvol { type softvol slave { pcm "ch51dup" } control { name "All" card 0 } } pcm.ch51dup { type route slave.pcm surround51 slave.channels 6 ttable.0.0 1 ttable.1.1 1 ttable.0.2 1 ttable.1.3 1 ttable.0.5 0.5 ttable.1.5 0.5 } ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/rhythmbox NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: rhythmbox 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.2 ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=ro_RO.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: rhythmbox Uname: Linux 2.6.27-9-generic i686 ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- rhythmbox surround sound 5.1 output option not available https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/305971 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
