Public bug reported: Affects: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed
Description: In g-s-m, we should provide a useful default statistic for memory. I propose one of two options: 1. Writable Memory With the latest upload of g-s-m, this gives the private and dirty RSS. That statistic is a good approximiation of actual memory usage. 2. Writable Memory + X Memory This helps give more accurate stats for applications like firefox which make use of X memory. Either one of these stats will help give users a fair evaluation of their memory usage. -- Meaningful default memory stats https://launchpad.net/bugs/43677 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
