We will have the feature next cycle for sure. To have translations the sources need to be marked as translatable so the .po list them and the translators can work on it. That's not the case at the moment. You can compare /usr/share/xsessions/gnome.desktop and /usr/share/xsessions/ssh.desktop to note the difference. We can mark it as translable now but that's not sure that all the translation team will catch up before dapper and will be displayed as a lack of polish
