There is no slow load with some other GNOME's apps like gcalc, gedit, etc though. I don't know if this is the same bug as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-doc-utils/+bug/23334 because that bug have already been solved since 2005. BTW, I am using Interpid now.
