You have been subscribed to a public bug: I've just upgraded from Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 and whenever I try to shutdown or restart via System -> Shutdown a window appears which says:
"System policy prevents restarting the system when other users are logged in." (It says something similar when I press shutdown.) And then I have to enter my password. If I log out and then shutdown or restart I'm not asked for a password. ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Incomplete ** Tags: 8.10 password restart shutdown ubuntu -- Shutdown/restart via gnome requires password https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/292085 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
