In FontConfig I see Sans font for all documentcs and aplications. Sans Bold for titles and Monospace for monospace.
In the Firefox screenshot you can see Sage Plugin fonts. They're blurred. Also see titles of articles in Evince screenshot of May2006 TuxMagazine. I suppose the problem is Sans Bold.
