It has certainly been fixed somewhere along the line, I've even tried to recreate it in a clean 5.10 running in a virtual machine, but no luck. Either it was something to do with my music library at the time, or an update in some other library fixed it. Rhythmbox has been rock solid for me for a long time now, and I have it open all the time.
