Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gedit
gedit does not allow to open binary files (even selecting iso8859-1
encoding fails, probably because of '0'/NULL characters).
An option to show it as read-only (possibly with 'hd/bsdmainutils'
transform) should be offered.
Reasoning: dropping down to terminal while working through a HD full of
old files is not nice. And refusing to show file contents just because
some of the bytes are a bit funky is not nice either.
