I thought someone would say that :) I'll give it a go - I might get lucky.
One thing I have discovered is a user work around: If one edits the Calendar preferences and changes "Show a reminder" to something other than 15 minutes (no need to tick the check box) the problem goes away but setting it back to 15 re-introduces the problem.
