Using a real installation(not a VM) of Hardy, I noticed that the Authorizations window IS resizable but not below a resolution of approximately 531x625 (including the window manager). Therefore, the maximize button probably tries to shrink it down vertically to 800x600 but it is not possible. Perhaps this is what creates this issue. Menu editor and Inkscape seem to also have a minimum dimension restrictions.
