It's 100% reproducible in Hardy: * right click on any OpenOffice document (as in, an actual OOo file like a .odt, not a .doc) * Look for the "Create Archive" option you'd normally get when right clicking on a file * Notice that the option is not there, instead you have "Extract Archive"
This is because OOo files are zips of XML and other stuff, so Nautilus is recognising them as zip files, but it's not useful for a normal user to be able to extract the XML and other data from a .odt. Arguably there is no need to put a .odt in a .zip or .tar.gz, however, they might want to create an archive with one file and then add others later. Since File Roller is gone from the Applications menu, there is no way to start a new .zip/.tar.gz with an OOo document. -- Unable to create archive with OpenOffice document using nautilus integration https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/237064 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
