I followed the hint from Andy and was able to reproduce the behaviour. With activated "Show position of pointer when the Control key is pressed" most of my shortcuts are ignored. Strangely, the custom-defined STRG+ALT+T for the terminal works even then. If I de-select the cursor- highlighting, all of my custom-defined as well as the standard shortcuts work.
