cups now supports restricting printer users. In /etc/cups/printers.conf, you can use 'AllowUser', 'DenyGroup', etc. to configure the set of users which are allowed to use this particular printer. You can also configure this with the web interface.
However, gnome-cups-manager does not offer a GUI for that yet, thus I change the package name. ** Changed in: cupsys (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: cupsys => gnome-cups-manager ** Summary changed: - cupsys: allow printing restrictions to a subset of users + cupsys: GUI for printing restrictions to a subset of users ** Summary changed: - cupsys: GUI for printing restrictions to a subset of users + provide GUI for printing restrictions to a subset of users -- provide GUI for printing restrictions to a subset of users https://launchpad.net/bugs/18447 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
