Binary package hint: nautilus

I am running a hardy heron that was installed on Win XP machine using Wubi. It 
was running fine until I clicked the download missing plugin on Firefox to 
install Adobe flash. Now the synaptic package manager will not run and says 
that I need to report the problem and run some file manually.
Can please some of you more knowledged peeps help??
