thank you for your very helpful reply the panel is back again. The only known way for me to run this command was in the failsafe terminal login
the command gave me the reply that the panel is not installed. so i installed it may not be a bug, but my own fault removing a bit too much when removing evolution now some applications i had on the bar are not there anymore, also the message The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_CPUFreqApplet". The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_DriveMountApplet". and other similar ones regarding the apps previously connected to the panel. asking me "Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?" and giving me the options "delete" and "dont delete" while not adding the applications back to the panel applications which were not on the panel before can be added without problems is there a way to get the applications back in place? Of yes, how. Or where can i find/ask for this information thank you again installed ubuntu yesterday, great support here for a free OS! -- no panels, ALT+F2 doesent work, cant create launchers on desktop ... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253070 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
