It does work properly for + 400 USB headset via the gnome-volume-control. It does work properly for my SB live 5.1. I am able to properly control the volume using the curses alsamixer, so - it seems related to the gnome volume manager interfaces only. + it seems related to the gnome-volume-control interfaces only. Using the keyboard volume controls results in the same effect as using - the gnome volume manager. + the gnome-volume-control. - When I run the gnome volume manager and the curses alsamixer at the same + When I run the gnome-volume-control and the curses alsamixer at the same time, I start seeing the same effects in the curses version. I only - have to change the card in the gnome volume manager to return the curses + have to change the card in the gnome-volume-control to return the curses alsamixer back to correct functioning.
