Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince
Would it be possible for evince to somehow explain _why_ it cannot print or save a document, instead of just graying out the "Save a copy" menu item? I know I can just right-click a PDF link and "Save as...", it's just confusing when I don't get to know why I can't save the document... This could maybe be done with a pop-up [dialog], a "tooltip", changed title bar text, some info showing up in the Properties window, an information bar... ? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109429 says: "Could it be due to the access/copy rights on specific pdf files you're viewing? you can override these restrictions by setting "/apps/evince/override_restrictions" with gconf-editor." ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Clarify "Save a copy" grayed out https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/250433 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
