Is there a specification for what the intended behaviour is here? I've not followed exactly the changes with moving from the gconf key to the hal rules or whatever, but the net result is that I now see the opposite to when I filed the bug.
In particular, the following fstab line does not create a visible drive icon anywhere: "/dev/hda1 /media/Windows vfat noatime,users,noauto ..."
