Yeah, this was a libao bug. A lot of people hit it with the Fedora package of Gaim, but they have since fixed their libao package. I don't know if they fixed it by patching their current version or by getting a new version from upstream libao. I tried to find a Redhat bugzilla bug# for it, but I couldn't.
