3.0 is target to Ubuntu Intrepid (october 2008). You can help us to make
this release even better reporting your issue -calling is unreliable- to
the Ekiga bug tracking system directly:

If so, use those tags:
Version: SVN trunk
Component: General

If Ekiga crash (stop responding or just break down), we will need a 
"backtrace", if Ekiga still works but hang up your call we will need a "debug 
output", here are directions to get those:

You can setup Ekiga to provide both in the case you don't which one to chose:
