You have been subscribed to a public bug: Ubuntu 8.04 Linux computer 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Jun 4 16:35:01 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux (was also actual with all older kernels from 24-16)
Network Monitor Applet I connect to the Internet via ADSL router set in routing mode. When I select eth0 in Network Monitor dropdown menu and click "configure" it asks for a sudo password and after then says "The interface does not exist. Check that it is correctly typed and that it is correctly supported by your system." It worked fine in 7.10 and 7.04 I am pretty sure that it DOES exist as it's the only one i have. And so does ifconfig say. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0f:fe:1b:4c:83 inet addr:192.168.1.2 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::20f:eaff:fe1b:4c83/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1492 Metric:1 RX packets:8268 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:9276 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:4371768 (4.1 MB) TX bytes:1041981 (1017.5 KB) Interface is still configureable through Network Settings. Current properties are Roaming Mode - not enabled Static IP configuration: IP address 192.168.1.2 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Gateway address 192.168.1.1 though changing them does not help. ** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Network Monitor Applet doesn't see eth0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238550 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-applets in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
