Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
In gnome-display-properties, when you press 'Apply', you get a very nice dialog with a 20-second timeout to test-run your new settings. Reverting to old settings is default after time-out in case your screen has become unreadable. So far so good, but the explanatory text and button text always leave me confused. I have just choosen new settings that I want to try, so I'd expect to be able to choose between options like 'Use New Settings' or 'Keep Old Settings'. In stead, the dialog says 'Do you want to keep these screen settings?' and offers a choice between 'Use Previous Settings' and 'Keep Settings' (see attached screenshot). If anything, please change 'Keep settings' into 'Keep New Settings', but for me 'Keeping' refers to what I already have, and that are my old settings, not the new ones. Is anyone with me on this? I'm running a fresh install of Hardy, I have gnome-control-center 1:2.22.1-0ubuntu4.1 installed. ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: Confirmed -- gnome-display-properties "Keep Settings" dialog is confusing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/237009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
