One thing that might be related to this bug: If I try to add an smb printer via gnome-cups-manager, a login box pops up asking me to log into "Avigato" which is the workgroup name. There is no security setup requiring to log into the workgroup (I don't know whether this is even possible). Could it be that somewhere is the expectation that you need to log into a domain controller?
