Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-keyring
I have contracted gnome-keyring by upgrading to Hardy, unfortunately, I cannot remove it without removing essential packages (gdm...). I find it extremely annoying in its current form, and it has no benfits whatsoever for me. My ssh setup was working perfectly for my purposes, but gnome-keyring's authors seem to believe that they know a lot better what my purposes are. Make the packages uninstallable, weed out some of the more far-fetched dependencies or at least ask for a user's consent before you change the behavior of essential packages such as ssh for him. This is beginning to feel like Windows. ** Affects: gnome-keyring (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Please make gnome-keyring optional https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235421 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
