I thought the report was clear enough already actually. Anyway: Steps to reproduce: 1) Open Evolution and enable PGP signing for outgoing mail (Edit -> Preferences, click 'Mail Accounts' button, click,'Security' tab and then check the button to PGP sign mail and enter a key ID) 2) Compose a new mail and attempt to sign (New mail -> Type mail then click send)
What happens: When I click send, evolution pops up an error dialog saying: 'Could not create message. Because "Failed to unlock secret key: 3 bad passphrases given.", you may need to select different mail options.' Evolution then makes no attempt to send the message, even after I have closed the error dialog. The only way to send is to uncheck the 'PGP sign' option (sorry, I can't remember which menu that is under as I'm at work at the moment) What do I expect to happen: Evolution should open a dialog prompting for the passphrase to unlock the key which I specified in the mail account settings. Upon entering the correct pass-phrase, Evolution signs and then sends the e-mail. Note that if I remove the key ID from the mail account preferences, I expect Evolution to prompt me to specify a key when I attempt to send an e-mail. However, I get the same error dialog (3 bad passphrases given), even though I haven't specified a key to sign it with yet! This is with Evolution 2.22.1.1-0ubuntu2 from hardy-proposed. Downgrading to 2.22.1-0ubuntu3.1 from hardy-updates fixes the problem. -- Cannot PGP sign e-mails in Evolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231666 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
