We can talk about this issue (if you would like) at the LUGatUCF meeting. The problem seems to be related to the SanDisk flash drive (I tried PNY flash memory and it works flawlessly) with 2.6.12-10 kernel. I haven't upgraded to the Dapper kernel just yet.
