Had this bug with ubuntu 7 10. Hoped for better with 4 08. Stripes exist in both VLC and Totem. Useless for viewing DVD. Video board is Via circa 2004 model unknown. Also the DVD players cannot open a common, commercial movie (crismas vacation). c'mON
