This is actually a support query rather than a bug. It sounds like it has been saved in to your "session".
If you go to System -> Preferences -> Sessions and make sure Automatically save changes to session is unticked. Click on the Current Session tab and scroll down through the list of programs and find rhythmbox. Click on it then click on remove.
