You have been subscribed to a public bug: Setup: Ubuntu Gutsy with basic power management settings (shutdown when critical) Dell Inspiron 8600 2x laptop batteries 1 UPS connected via USB (CPS CP 1300D) AC Power unplugged
The laptop was unplugged from AC power by accident and was correctly placed on Battery Mode. After both batteries discharged completely, the system shutdown without warning. The UPS was still listed in the notification area icon as 100% with 1 hour 31 minutes charge time, even though the computer was on battery power and had no way of drawing power from the UPS. I believe that it miscalculated the remaining time available on battery power because of the UPS being connected. Because of this, it never properly warned me to shutdown, or to plug it back in. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- USB connected UPS reported as internal power https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174151 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
