For anyone who needs to know the workaround, run gconf-editor (alt-2 followed by gconf-editor should do it). Hit ctrl-F and search for "autoipod". You will find a key of that name and another called autoipod_command, which should do the trick.
Needless to say, this workaround is not obvious.
