The new xulrunner-1.9 (1.9~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu1) does not solve the problem for me. I have a fully updated kubuntu hardy, with firefox b5. Video board is: ATI Technologies Inc M24 1P [Radeon Mobility X600], driver is ati r300 I'm not using compiz or any other compositing WM. Test case: http://virtualnorthstar.org/.
