Could those who still ahve the issue run /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r and copy to a comment what is written when the copy breaks? Does gvfs-ls and gvfs-copy work when nautilus stops working? Could you try to attach gdb to gvfsd-ssh before copying and not if there is any issue there?
