Public bug reported:
tried in several programs. the files should hide and show as the hidden
files checkbox is checked. currently files starting with a dot are
correctly hidden and shown, files ending with a ~ are ignored and are
always shown in the gtk file chooser (files ending in ~ show and hide
corrently in nautilus)
tested on a fresh user account too, just in case
