confirmed on Hardy Alpha 6 with ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE_ON_AC=1 in /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf and ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE=true in /etc/default/acpi-support, in gdm login screen cat'ting /proc/sys/vm/laptop_mode outputs 2, when i logon into my account cat'ting /proc/sys/vm/laptop_mode outputs 0
