This bug is nearly 2 years old. Does the issue still exist, or is there now a way to disable polling, customise the polling interval, and/or reduce polling to a single daemon? If not, I believe the priority of this bug should be increased from "low" as it definitely has a negative impact on power saving features on laptops. I don't much care what the default is, but there needs to be an easy to way to customise or disable it.
