Thanks for your bug submission. I was able to verify. Print-to-file (postscript): -rw-r--r-- 1 tgalati4 tgalati4 3053363 2008-02-28 15:33 math_paper_test.ps This means that the postscript version of the file is only 3.05 MB. I was using evince 2.20.1 on gutsy.
But when I turned my printer off and submitted the job (because I really didn't want to print it out, I just wanted to check the print queue). 26.3 MB! Using acroread (version 8) the print file was 18.56 MB. If your printer doesn't have enough onboard memory, then it's possible that you will have print problems. These tests were done with an HP 7110 Officejet. Don't have any KDE machines handy to test (not booted anyway). Since acroread is proprietary, it's doubtful we'll ever know what tricks were used to shrink file size. At least you have a work around. ** Changed in: evince (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- printing pdf causes abnormally large job https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/188973 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
