You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools
Setting up manual network configuration using network-manager can only be done once - the second time I try to use network-admin to change the configuration (for example - to return an interface to "roaming mode"), I get an error: "The configuration could not be saved You are not allowed to modify the system configuration." To reproduce: 1. start Ubuntu 2. log in as a user with administrator capabilities 3. start network-admin by clicking the network manager icon and choosing "manual configuration". 4. use "unlock" button on the network-admin dialog, and type the user's password 5. change something, save and close. 6. start network-admin again and unlock it again 7. try to change something - an error appears. This is with current Hardy alpha (updated 22.8.2008). The only way that I could find to get network-admin to work again is to reboot the computer. ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: Incomplete -- network-admin can only be used once https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/194725 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
