Fotox is a free open-source Linux program for improving image files made with a digital camera. Image editor: panoramas, high dynamic range (HDR) composites, change brightness distribution, intensify colors, reduce haze, resize, rotate (any angle), crop, red-eye removal, thumbnail image browser and navigator. + brightness/contrast: change bright and dark image areas independently + reduce haze and intensify colors + HDR: merge underexposed + overexposed images to improve detail in both bright and dark areas + panorama: stitch images together to make a wide image + crop: select area of interest and cut off margins + rotate: level a tilted image or rotate 90 degrees + resize: 2/3 1/2 1/3 1/4 or custom ratio + red-eye removal + view EXIF data (no edit) + needs 100MB memory to edit 10 megapixel images Requirements: This application requires GTK+ version 2.8.x. Other dependencies include: Standard Gnome GTK application. g++ and libgtk2-dev needed to build executable. Package exiv2 needed to view EXIF data (optional). Latest Version: fotox v.36 A user guide (PDF file) is available. The GUI is available in German and English.
